Files lost? Data Leakage? E-mails missing? System hacked?

 WE’RE ON THE CASE!

It is estimated that 90 percent of the world’s information is now created and stored in electronic format. Normal data collection and preservation techniques aren’t always sufficient when something goes wrong. Ispirian’s computer forensic experts have the tools, training and expertise to get to the bottom of any digital mysteries, whether they involve possible computer crimes, regulatory compliance or simply tracking down lost data. Ispirian understands how data is stored, where to look for digital evidence and how to recover that evidence from various types of file systems while ensuring that it is not altered in any way. This allows us to identify, locate, extract and preserve data from computer systems and media for specific purposes, such as to provide evidence of a cyber crime or to confirm a violation of corporate policies.

Ispirian can help bridge the technology gap in the investigative process and deliver quality, defensible results. A look to our professional involvement, training, published works, litigation experience, report-writing skills and our focus on the digital forensics discipline are indicators of our ability to support corporate internal investigations, litigators and the e-discovery process.

Whether your data recovery need is personal or is related to corporate governance or potential litigation, insist that a trained investigative professional provide the assistance you need.

Lacking proper training, even proven computer-literate professionals can cause otherwise recoverable files to become unrecoverable. Get assistance from a trained computer investigative specialist - not a downloaded software program or an untrained 'expert' - before exercising any other option. Even turning on or continuing to operate a computer having file recovery issues can permanently 'destroy' deleted files.

You might not be going to court, but if you are, our tools, practices and procedures emphasize two primary evidentiary priorities.

In order to reach our goal to generate data during the examination process that accurately represents the evidence collected, we first use procedures to authenticate evidence and to ensure the integrity of the media when collecting, copying, analyzing and reconstructing evidence from it. Second, we use forensically sound tools to image the media without in any way altering, manipulating or damaging the data on the original media.

Ispirian has the training, tools and procedures necessary to assist you.

For instance, before starting to search for files or other data on a hard drive, diskette, optical media or tape, we first make a "forensic copy" or "bitstream image", sector by sector, of the original media to one of our own 'sterilized' disks (completely wiped, scanned for viruses and verified before use.) A bitstream image is preferable, since a file-by-file copy does not capture the residual data necessary to perform a complete forensic analysis and subsequent data recovery. We use software employing one-way cryptographic algorithms to verify that any copy is a true and accurate representation of the original. This process is completed without changing any structure or information on the original media, thus preserving the state of the system as it existed at the point we received custody.

Ispirian can provide an inventory of files contained on the media soon after the media has been imaged.

The “inventory” list is presented logically in a format similar to standard directory tree. The list documents the date of last change and file size and a digital fingerprint (message digest) of each file. This assures a nearly perfect and a practically unalterable representation of files present in logical disk space. The inventory list is properly marked and signed by the examiner then is sealed and securely retained in a controlled access location.

Don't Get Locked Out Again!

Most of us understand the importance of using strong passwords — they’re just so devilishly difficult to remember. Consider using KeePass which is designed to eliminate the password management dilemma by providing a secure place to store passwords and retrieve them with a single key.
